There are also raw beets in small grocery stores in France ... just know the right places ... and it would be a shame to miss, especially if the recipe calls for cooking the beets first . After testing the same recipe with beet bought already cooked beets I cooked myself, I would say that there is no photo, it does not give quite the same results! So cook your beets yourself, otherwise the end result is better!
