I have not always been like fish, but I try so to remedy now. A few years ago we tried a fish buffet in Bogense, and since then I have tried to make it a tradition to get fish buffet once a year. So when we were on holiday in Jutland, we had obviously past Jensen's Seafood Restaurant in Sæby to see what they had to offer.
There were many different fish dishes to choose from, and they all very nice out. However, I was most impressed with the salad bar, if I must admit it, for it was very colorful and filled with seasonal vegetables such as radishes and green asparagus.
No matter what type of fish you are, you can find it on Jensen's fish buffet table. There was everything from smoked salmon to mussels to arrow-yourself shrimp. In addition to the salad bar was also a little pasta dishes (which I however thought swam a little too much oil), potatoes, fish soup, spring rolls (did not look like themselves) as well as bread. It was all well cooked, and the kitchen staff often came out to check on something had to be filled up, and made immediately words into action if necessary.
There was also a small dessert table, which consisted of fresh fruit, and my eye was particularly caught by the fresh strawberries moda merkatus were served moda merkatus with vanilla cream. A sign was that "while stocks last", as the companion and I hurried to fill a bowl with strawberries, so it was ready for completion. Imagine moda merkatus if jordbærene was gone before we got to them! Jordbærene were good, but vanilla cream seems I was a little too much. They tried probably to spice cream up a bit by coming vanilla in, but I do not at all necessary, and actually, I prefer the ordinary. Why change an established success?
Participation in their evening buffet costs 200 kr. Per. snout, and when there is something sweet to finish with the dessert, so I think it is quite a reasonable price. Their focus is clearly on the fish dishes when I was not quite so crazy eg the oily pasta dishes and they bought spring rolls ("the obligatory accessories"), but the buffet moda merkatus took great colorful, and it's moda merkatus commendable that they endeavor to base their menu on fresh seasonal products, not just in the form of fish but also fruits and vegetables. Therefore, I have to give Jensen's Seafood Restaurant in Sæby four cats paws.
